DR Dave’s Spring Checkup

Any doctor will request that a patient return once a year for a complete physical. So, DR Dave has recommended the same for everyone's camper, a yearly check up first thing in the spring.

Normally we would charge $110 per hour to perform these checks which include:

Check functionality of the slides (if there are any) and lube under the slides. We leave the slides open for you if you would like. Please let us know (10 minutes per slide)

Spray all slide seals and wipe with silicone spray to keep seals pliable and prevent cracking (30 minutes)

De-winterize and check all of the bypasses and switches (30 minutes)

Check the plumbing for any visual leaks and make sure the pump is working properly. We will be placing water in the fresh water tank and leaving it (20 minutes)

Check the roof and caulk only if necessary (this maintenance should be performed every six months) (30 minutes if maintained)
(1-2 hours if not maintained)

Check the seams around the camper and silicone only if necessary (this maintenance should be done every six months) (30 to 60 minutes)

Check for any leaks on roof, inside walls or around the perimeter of the camper (This is covered on previous steps listed)

Check ALL appliances to make sure they are all working:

Stove top and oven (5 minutes)

Hot water heater (we blow out burn chamber with air compressor only if needed) and fill the water heater with water to test the hot water temperature (40 minutes)

Furnace to make sure it cycles properly and blows hot air (20 minutes)

Air Conditioner (Clean with coil cleaner and straighten fins if bent or damaged - also remove any bees nests that we find) (30 to 40 minutes)

Refrigerator (has to be turned on 24 hours before we arrive - we check the temperature to make sure all is working and also make sure it switches from propane to electric) Please make sure that your camper is level when turning on the refrigerator to prevent sodium chromate from damaging the refrigerator unit. If your refrigerator is residential, you do not need to worry about the sodium chromate nor will it switch from electric to propane. (15 minutes)

Leveling - Occasionally during the winter and spring months because of the ground around the camper becoming saturated with water, the RV will settle so it may need to be leveled again.  DR Dave can help with leveling if necessary. (This depends on how many jacks the camper has and how far the camper has settled or if no jacks, the blocks used to level the camper) 30 to 45 minutes

Perform an 11 inch water column test for any propane leaks
(5 minutes)

Use our moisture meter to determine the moisture in each of the inside walls of the camper to catch any problem areas that may begin developing mold and mildew and catch this before it becomes an issue.  If we find a lot of moisture, we recommend using a dehumidifier in the camper to reduce the moisture.  Sometimes that is all that is needed. Occasionally the customer may consider having the water damage inside the walls checked and repaired (15-30 minutes)

Check the health of the battery by checking the voltage to make sure the battery has the correct charge (10 minutes)

Check the converter to make sure it is working properly producing 13.5 volts or more (5 minutes)

NOTE: The checklist above is just that. We check everything to make sure your RV is working properly. If we find a problem with something and it will not work, we will contact you while we are at the campsite if we have cell reception. If not, you can give us permission ahead of time to repair whatever requires us to do so OR we can identify the problem and then let you know and return at a later date to repair.

To perform the spring check up we will require:

Full propane tanks

Battery

Water hook up

Of course, as our customer, you can also pick and choose whatever you would like to have checked on our list above.
Just email us the list and we will be happy to accommodate.

THIS SPRING CHECKUP IS $750.00 WORTH OF MAINTENANCE AND WE ARE OFFERING THIS ENTIRE SPRING PACKAGE FOR $450.00 NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES. THIS INCLUDES ALL MAINTENANCE LISTED.

**Please note that any products that we bring and use will be reimbursed by the customer and included on the invoice. Those include caulks, roof tape, silicone tubes, silicone spray, lithium grease spray and A/C coil cleaner.
